Cargill Total Compensation Philosophy
In China, the Human Resources function conducts regular compensation and benefits surveys to ensure that Cargill remains a competitive employer on the China market. Meanwhile, pursuant to the relevant laws and regulations of China, the company makes contributions to the employee’s social benefits including pension, basic medical insurance, child-bearing insurance, housing public fund, and unemployment insurance. Beyond this, employees in China are provided with a commercial Life and Accidental Insurance plan funded by Cargill.
Training & Development
Cargill attaches vital importance to management and staff training and development. It is Cargill’s policy to have proper training plans in place to ensure employees are trained for better skills, abilities and higher productivity. Managers are responsible for determining the training needs in their business units, divisions or departments. The input to assess the training needs come from various processes including Business Planning, Recruitment, Performance Management Program, Career Development Program, and Cargill Leadership Talent Management process.
Cargill China provides overseas assignment for high potential employees to get more exposure on advanced management or technical training. The company invites experts to come to China to train its Chinese staff as well. The company also provides tuition support to high performing employees for degree and non-degree courses. The purpose of this benefit is to encourage and assist employees in personal and professional development.
