“Selecting for Future Needs Initiative - China”
Talent is always the most important element for company’s growing and we cannot make any progress without talent. From Year 2005, we started a project named “Selecting for Future Needs Initiative - China”. This project is aimed at the following objectives:
- Accelerate the incorporation and development of Chinese talent into Cargill.
- Hire to fill critical positions in Cargill China
- Provide assignments to develop and grow Chinese talent in other countries including USA, Europe, etc.
- Place Chinese talent back in China according to business needs and opportunities
We had the first round selection event for the project during May to June, 2005. As a result of the event, 12 employees joined in Cargill in September and October. They will work in China for a period of 6-18 months before taking on overseas assignment. As of May 2006, five of them have already started assignment in Belgium, Amsterdam, U.S.A, and Geneva. The others will start their overseas assignment very soon.
The second round of selection was launched in March 2006. This time 16 potential candidates were invited for participate the panel interview. 3 candidates have joined company in May 2006.
