Cargill Appraised as “Model Unit for Excellent Corporate Citizen”
Beijing - Cargill was appraised as a “Model Unit for Excellent Corporate Citizen” at 2008 International Charity Forum”, and the award-giving ceremony was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. About 500 persons including the Chinese state leaders, the leaders from the Chinese charity community, the national community of industry and commerce and the sector of civil rights and those from all walks of life at home and abroad, participated in this grand gathering.
Dr. Huang Juhui, Chief Director of Cargill Government & Corporate Affairs Department attended the forum and presented the efforts of Cargill (China) in corporate citizenship. Dr. Huang stated: “It’s a great honor for Cargill to win this award. As a multinational with a history of more than 140 years, Cargill has been seeking to become a world-leading corporate citizen. It is not only because we have made contribution to China’s rural education that we have been granted this award, but what’s more, as an agricultural enterprise, we have also devoted ourselves to helping Chinese farmers to improve production and living and established a new pattern of interaction and mutual benefit between the enterprise and rural communities, providing a way that can be used for reference by the multinationals for their involvement in the building of new countryside.”
