Cargill Ferrous International (CFI) has been a leading player in China’s steel industry since 1980. With an import and export turnover of over 800 million US dollars with China, overall CFI has achieved more than 2 billion US dollars globally. Given our rich experience and reliable presence as one of the largest independent global traders of ferrous products, we are highly competitive in the world trade market.

We are a major supplier of iron ore and pig iron to key steel mills in China. In addition, we market an entire range of steel products, such as slabs, billets, rods and bars, hot rolled coils and plates, cold rolled, galvanized, galvalume and pre-painted. Cargill manages the supply chain efficiently by providing ocean and ground transportation, logistics, distribution and financial and risk management solutions for users and local distribution channels.

CFI also owns the US-based Cargill Steel Service Center, which processes close to 700,000 metric tons of flat products annually through six facilities.

CFI has been a champion of China's steel exports for many years. We have exported steel from China to various destinations including USA, Europe, India, South East Asia and more. We manage our business in China through our offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

CFI operates 14 offices strategically located around the world to provide timely recognition of market changes, maintain relationships with local mills, end users, distributors and shipping contacts, and monitor export/import rules and regulations. In some offices, we share facilities and resources with other Cargill Business Units, collaborating on freight, currency, financing, government relations and administrative duties to bring scale and competency to the trading activities.
